Joe grew up playing hockey in his hometown of Saugus, MA. He played high school hockey for Malden Catholic High School, and then was a 4 year letter winner at MIT in Cambridge, MA.

Joe has been coaching for almost 15 years, and has achieved his Master's level of certification in USA Hockey. Joe has been an instructor for Suburban Hockey Schools for 5 years. This past year he coached the 1997 Farmington Fire, and was an assistant coach with the 1995 Farmington Fire.
